Mizoram gets 2 MW solar plant: The state of Mizoram has brought online the state’s 1st solar power plant with 2 MW capacity in Tlungvel, as the state Power Minister Pu R. Lalzirliana said, its entry into the solar map of the country. Funded by the state government, the project was inaugurated on December 4, 2020. It is equipped with 5,340 solar modules and is expected to generate 3 million units of clean energy annually. Mizoram has another 20 MW solar power project currently under construction at Vankal in Khawzawl district.
880 MW solar plant planned for Himachal Pradesh: The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh said SJVNL has been allocated the development of a 880 MW solar power plant in the state. Speaking during RE-Invest 2020, Jai Ram Thakur shared the project will come up in Spiti region as part of the the state government’s efforts to have 6 GW of renewable energy in Chenab basin and Spiti region.
Blueleaf acquires stake in Vibrant Energy: Blueleaf Energy Asia Pte Limited has entered India’s solar market with a majority acquisition in Vibrant Energy Holdings Pte Ltd from ATN International, Inc. Singapore based Blue Leaf was earlier known as Conergy and is owned by Macquarie Group’s Green Investment Group (GIG) (see Singapore’s Conergy Now Blueleaf Energy). Vibrant Energy caters to the C&I customer base touting 66 MW of operational solar PV projects and an active development pipeline of over 400 MW across India. “‘The acquisition uniquely positions Vibrant Energy to become an innovative C&I platform in India by cross-leveraging the expertise of Blueleaf and ATN,” said Vibrant Energy CEO Srini Viswanathan. “Vibrant Energy has significant in-house capabilities to not only originate, develop, execute, and manage utility plants at scale, but to also adapt in a fast-changing C&I market.”
140 MW solar tender in Gujarat: The Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) has launched a tender from EPC contractors for 140 MW grid connected solar PV capacity in the state. Broad scope of work involves design, engineering, supply and procurement, construction, operation and maintenance of the capacity ranging from 10 MW to 40 MW at various substations of Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation (GETCO). It also involves working on a 15 MW project for Gujarat State Fertilizers and Chemicals (GSFC) and a 4 MW project for the Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers and Chemicals (GNFC) at Charanka Solar Park.
