Shenzhen S.C to present at TaiyangNews Virtual Conference on Sep. 2, 2025

The TaiyangNews Cell Production Equipment Report, published recently, discussed the innovations in cell production equipment. As a follow-up, TaiyangNews is now organizing a virtual conference to expand the coverage and dialogue on production equipment.

At the TaiyangNews Virtual Conference on Cell & Module Production Equipment & Processing Materials, Homer Chen, Associate Dean of Research Institute, S.C New Energy, will be presenting on the topic titled: Unlocking Optimization Potential in TOPCon and Related Production Solutions.

The Conference is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 09:30 to 13:00. For the full agenda, please visit our website. Click here to register for free.

Yingfa Ruineng files for HKEX IPO

Solar cell manufacturer Yingfa Ruineng has formally submitted its listing application to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX).

According to its prospectus, its revenues were RMB 5.643 billion ($784 million) in 2022, RMB 10.494 billion ($1.46 billion) in 2023, and RMB 4.359 billion ($605 million) in 2024. Net profits for the period were RMB 350 million ($48.6 million) in 2022, RMB 410 million ($57 million) in 2023, and a net loss of RMB 864 million ($120 million) in 2024.

The company also notes that its revenues rebounded to RMB 2.408 billion ($334 million) during the first 4 months of 2025, with net profit of RMB 355 million ($49.3 million).

Yingfa Ruineng shipped 18.1 GW of n-type cells in 2024, the world’s third-largest n-type TOPCon manufacturer with a 14.7% global market share (see China Solar PV News Snippets). As of April 2025, its annual capacity for n-type TOPCon cells totaled 32.7 GW.

The company plans to use the proceeds from the IPO to fund Phase II of its Indonesian 3 GW TOPCon cell project, develop advanced solar cell technologies, and expand domestic and overseas sales channels.

Trina Storage ESS batteries get national safety certification

Trina Storage, the energy storage arm of Trinasolar, has announced that its Elementa 2 series energy storage system (ESS) has passed China’s first mandatory national standard certification for energy storage lithium batteries (GB 44240-2024), with the certificate issued by China General Certification Center (CGC).

This standard applies to lithium batteries and battery packs used in applications including grid/off-grid large-scale storage, PV systems, stationary generator start-up, emergency lighting and alarm systems, and telecommunications. It is said to be the first time that the ‘no fire, no explosion’ has become a legal mandate in this standard.

Trina Storage recently completed the upgrade of its smart integration factory in Chuzhou, Anhui Province (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

LEAD secures GW-scale order for BC cell screen-printing equipment

Smart manufacturing solutions provider LEAD Intelligent Equipment announced that the screen-printing equipment developed in-house has won a GW-scale order for a back-contact (BC) cell project from a leading PV manufacturer.

The order includes automated feeding machines, screen printers, buffer units, flipping machines, and other line equipment. The core screen-printing machine supports 182–210 mm half-cells, with a single-line capacity of 20,500 half-cells/hour, and integrates advanced automation functions including unmanned inspection, AGV logistics, auto-slurry injection, AOI/PL testing, and mesh monitoring.

CPIA calls for fair competition in China’s PV industry

The China Photovoltaic Industry Association (CPIA) has issued an industry self-regulation initiative, urging all PV companies to maintain fair competition and foster high-quality development of the sector.

The association noted that while China’s PV industry maintains a global leadership position, supply-demand imbalances and disorderly competition have intensified, hindering healthy growth. The proposal sets out 6 key requirements:

  1. Comply with pricing, anti-monopoly, and bidding laws, reject below-cost dumping, and improve bidding mechanisms for power plant projects.

  2. Uphold quality and safety, eliminating practices like under-specification and power output falsification.

  3. Produce in line with market demand, avoid blind capacity expansion.

  4. Respect intellectual property rights.

  5. Focus on innovation to escape homogenized competition.

  6. Expand internationally in compliance with regulations, safeguarding China’s PV image.

It also calls on local governments to enforce fair competition policies, certification bodies to enhance credibility, media to report objectively, and financial institutions to adopt differentiated support measures. Leading manufacturers, including JinkoSolar, JA Solar, GCL, AIKO, and Huasun, have publicly endorsed the initiative.
