  • MNRE has launched an EOI seeking consultants that would want to assess its Development of Solar Parks and Ultra Mega Solar Power Projects scheme
  • Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit technical and financial proposals under RFP round
  • Idea is to evaluate program implementation and recommend modifications, if any

The Indian Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has launched an expression of interest (EOI) inviting consultants/experts to conduct evaluation of its program/scheme Development of Solar Parks and Ultra Mega Solar Power Projects.

Under the scheme, MNRE aims to set up a minimum of 50 solar parks each with a capacity of 500 MW and above by 2021-22. The government is supporting the capacity with an estimated central financial assistance (CFA) of INR 81 billion under the National Solar Mission (NSM) which stipulates a 100 GW grid solar applications target to be achieved by December 31, 2022.

Ever since the scheme came into force from December 2014, a large number of systems have already been installed or are currently being installed.

Through the expression of interest (EOI), the ministry wants the selected consultant to evaluate the implementation of the program by collecting information from state implementing agencies, solar park developers and other stakeholders. The consultant would be required to assess performance of the applications for different stakeholders and recommend if the scheme needs to be continued or recommend modifications.

Interested consultants will be shortlisted basis the EOIs received, and invited to submit technical and financial proposals under request for proposals (RFP) round. Selected candidate will need to submit final report of the study within 60 days from the date of award of work.

Last date to submit EOIs is August 26, 2021. Detailed terms and conditions can be viewed on the MNRE’s website.
