LONGi’s latest cell project put into production; JinkoSolar to supply 1 GW of Tiger Neo Panels to China Datang; DMEGC project in Phase II produces high-efficiency modules; Jiangsu Ruizhi to invest in PV tracking system; Haohua produces flexible CIGS thin film solar modules.

LONGi’s 5 GW monocrystalline project put into production: Chinese vertically integrated solar PV company LONGi Solar said that the first phase of its 10 GW monocrystalline cell project in Ningxia has been put into production, a media report stated. The total investment of this project is RMB 6.6 billion ($0.99 billion). While the first phase had an installed capacity of 5 GW, the second phase with again a capacity of 5 GW has begun and is expected to be put into operation by end of October next year. Recently, LONGi Solar at TaiyangNews Intersolar Munich Review Conference had presented the value proposition of 182mm/M10 technology based on bifacial PERC modules in larger solar applications (see Jason Yan, LONGi Solar: Value Proposition of 182 mm/M10 Based on Bifacial PERC Modules)

JinkoSolar & China Datang partner for 1 GW Tiger Neo Panels: Solar module manufacturer JinkoSolar made an announcement that it has got into an agreement with electricity generation company China Datang to supply about 1 GW of its high efficiency n-type bifacial Tiger Neo solar panels. This will help Datang power its six utility-scale solar projects located in Hunan and Guangxi province. This is the first time Datang will be using Tiger Neo n-type modules in its large-scale projects. Recently JinkoSolar had struck a 50 MWh ESS deal with Palette (see China PV News Snippets)

DMEGC project in Phase II produces high-efficiency modules: Vertically integrated solar module manufacturer China DMEGC’s Sihong Base project has successfully produced its first high-efficiency modules in Phase II. This phase of the project has a planned production capacity of 2.5 GW and uses 182mm large-size PERC high-efficiency cells. The power of the modules produced is 550 W, and the conversion efficiency is about 21.3%. last year, DMEGC had shared plans to expand its solar cell production capacity by an additional 4 GW (see Hengdian Group To Build 4 GW Solar Cell Production Capacity)

ST China Diving to invest RMB 500 million in PV tracking bracket project: Diving equipment company ST China Diving announced that its holding subsidiary Jiangsu Ruizhi Zhonghe plans to invest in the construction of a photovoltaic tracking bracket system production project in the Tongcheng Economic Development Zone. The total investment would be about RMB 500 million ($74.96 million). Jiangsu Ruizhi is into the development, application and system integration of photovoltaic tracking systems.

Haohua Optoelectronics produces first flexible CIGS module: Haohua Optoelectronics reported that it has produced its first flexible copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS) thin film solar cell module. As a supplier of flexible photovoltaic R&D, manufacturing, production and systematic solutions, the company plans to build a 600 MW flexible CIGS thin-film solar cell module mass production line.
