Huasun G12 HJT modules for China’s largest HJT project; Arctech Solar gets 2.8 GW tracker order from India; Ancai Hi-Tech & Tianjin Huanrai sign contract for 22.5 GW solar glass; SPIC’s polysilicon and industrial silicon agreements with Urad Middle Banner; Aiko Solar to invest in 6.5 GW cell fab.

Large scale HJT solar project completed: Huasun says currently the ‘largest’ heterojunction (HJT) solar power plant in China with a 50 MW installed capacity has completed construction and will be grid connected soon. The project in Weifang city of Shandong province is part of phase I of the Weijing New Energy Agriculture-Photovoltaic Integration Project. It is equipped with Huasun’s Huasheng Himalaya G12 series of high efficiency HJT modules that have a maximum output of 700W and bifacial rate of over 85%. It is located on agricultural wasteland where crops will be planted to make it an agrivoltaic facility. The project is likely to generate about 64 million kWh clean energy annually, 6% higher than the annual generation of a PERC bifacial module project of similar scale.

Arctech Solar’s 2.8 GW order from India: Solar tracker supplier Arctech Solar has secured a ‘super large order’ to supply 2.8 GW Tianji II tracking systems to the ‘largest project developer in Gujarat, India’. Once complete in Q3/2023, the project coming up on the desert area on the India-Pakistan border will become the ‘largest’ single PV power station in India. This order takes the company’s India cumulative shipments to 7 GW.

Big solar glass contract for Ancai Hi-Tech: Ancai Hi-Tech has announced signing a strategic cooperation agreement with Tianjin Huanrui to supply 22.5 GW ultra-clear embossed or ultra-clear float glass to the latter. The order volume could be increased or decreased by 4.5 GW. Specific products include but are not limited to single glass, double glass, etc. with thickness specifications of 3.2mm, 2.8mm and 2.0mm. The order is worth RMB 3 billion and will be delivered between January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2025.

SPIC signs 200,000-ton polysilicon agreement: SPIC Inner Mongolia Energy Group and Urad Middle Banner in Inner Mongolia have entered a framework agreement for a demonstration project of Ganqimaodu Port. They have also agreed to cooperate for 5 GW new energy, 200,000-ton polysilicon and 300,000 ton industrial silicon projects, according to local media reports that peg the contract value at RMB 61.06 billion.

More money for Aiko’s 6.5 GW cell production project: Aiko Solar has decided to increase the registered capital of its subsidiary that’s building the company’s 6.5 GW high efficiency new generation solar cell project in Zhuhai to RMB 1 billion. It stated this measure is significant to promote the steady development of the company, to seize market opportunities and improve the industry competitiveness.
