Xinjiang Lixin to build 1 GW PV power project in Manas: Photovoltaic company Xinjiang Lixin Energy Co., Ltd. announced via WeChat that it has signed an agreement with the Manas County People’s Government, and electricity and heat supplier, Xinjiang Yue Hydropower Energy, for a 1 GW photovoltaic capacity project in Manas County. The plan is to build 2 x 500 MW photovoltaic and energy storage farms and 2 x 220 kV collection stations in Beiwucha and Liuhudi in Manas County. The total investment is expected to be RMB 6.5 billion ($0.96 billion). Once the project is completed, about 1.6 billion kWh of clean electricity can be delivered to the grid annually.

MedicalSystem to invest in n-type TOPCon cell facility: Clinical informatics digital hospital solution provider MedicalSystem Company announced that it is planning to invest in n-type 4 high-efficiency TOPCon cell manufacturing facilities. The company plans to do this by leasing workshops and purchasing equipment. This move is directed at enhancing the company’s competitiveness and to capture the market opportunities available in the photovoltaic industry.

Huasun signs up for 5 GW HJT cell and module facility in Hefei: Chinese solar panel manufacturer Huasun Energy said via WeChat that it has got into a deal with the Feixi County Government for a 5 GW high-efficiency heterojunction cell and module facility. Spread across 410 mu, the investment on this facility is about RMB 5 billion ($0.74 billion). The facility will be producing bifacial microcrystalline high-efficiency HJT cells and modules. Once the facility is completed and starts producing, the annual output is expected to reach RMB 7 billion ($1.03 billion). In early January 2023, Huasun said its G12-132 Himalaya HJT modules have now a certified power output of 715W (see Huasun’s G12 Heterojunction Solar Module Now 715 W Strong)

Construction begins for CNBM·Shangqiu PV glass production line: China National Building Material Group (CNBM) – Shangqiu (Suiyang)’s photovoltaic rolling glass production line just began construction, local media reports said. With an investment of RMB 5.2 billion ($0.77 billion), about four 1200t/d photovoltaic rolling glass production lines will be built. Once it is completed, about 262 million square meters of photovoltaic cell packaging materials will be produced annually. This will drive an output value of RMB 45 billion ($6.6 billion) from upstream and downstream.
