JinkoSolar 440 W module shipments to Australia cross 1 million; Zhongneng Solar signs agreement to construct perovskite facility; TCL Zhonghuan issues corporate bonds; Daqo New Energy reports H1 2023 results.

JinkoSolar’s 1 Millionth 440 W module shipped to Australia: JinkoSolar, one of the largest solar module manufacturers in the world, announced that it has shipped 1 million 440 watt panels to Australia, across its Tiger Neo, Tiger Neo Satin and Tiger Pro module range. The company’s local subsidiary has operations and distributors throughout the country. Trina Solar RETC’s Overall Highest Achiever for 4th time: Chinese solar module manufacturer Trina Solar has been named Overall Highest Achiever in the recently published RETC 2023 PV Module Index Report for its Vertex N 700W series modules. The company was given High Achievement in Reliability in all test sequences including DH2000, PID, SDML and TC 600, it said. Trina recently reported that it has signed a deal with Israel based Teralight for the supply of Vertex modules and tracking systems (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Zhongneng to build perovskite module facility in Jiangjin: Jiangjin District People’s Government of Chongqing City and Zhongneng Solar have signed an agreement for the construction of its perovskite solar module southwest base factory in Baisha Industrial Park, Jiangjin District. With an investment of RMB 5 billion ($696 million), the 3 GW facility is expected to deliver an annual output of more than RMB 6 billion ($835 million) once fully up and running.

TCL Zhonghuan issues corporate bonds to fund production fabs: Leading solar wafer supplier TCL Zhonghuan announced that it is issuing convertible corporate bonds for a total amount not exceeding RMB 13.8 billion ($1.9 billion). After deducting the issuance expenses, the funds raised will be used for its 35 GW high-purity solar ultra-thin monocrystalline silicon wafer facility and the 25 GW n-type TOPCon high-efficiency solar cell production facility.

Daqo New Energy releases H1 2023 report: Chinese polysilicon producer Daqo New Energy has released its 2023 semi-annual report. The company’s operating income for H1 2023 was RMB 9.3 billion ($1.3 billion), a decrease of 42.93% YoY, while it realized a net profit of RMB 4.4 billion ($612 million), a YoY decrease of 53.53%. The company reported Q2 2023 financial results last week (see Low Polysilicon Prices Impact Daqo’s Q2/2023 Results). In parallel, Daqo New Energy also announced the exit of CEO Longgen Zhang with immediate effect (see Senior Leadership Overhaul At Daqo New Energy).
