  • Aiko Solar’s total solar cell and module sales during H1/2023 added up to 18.7 GW  
  • PERC cell production continues to maintain full capacity as well as full sales  
  • Sufficient orders in for ABC modules for which production capacity is gradually coming online 

Aiko Solar, the Chinese solar cell and module supplier, exited H1/2023 with a 3.09% annual increase in its operating income of RMB 1.64 billion, having sold 18.7 GW of solar cells and modules during the period, the company shared in its unaudited interim results.  

With this, Aiko met its business forecast of 18.5 GW to 19.0 GW solar cell and module sales during H1, as announced by the company in July 2023, while assuring sufficient orders for its All Back Contact (ABC) modules (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

The management said that the production of PERC cells continues to maintain full capacity and full sales. During the period, its 6.5 GW Zhuhai-located ABC cell manufacturing capacity was ramped up to full production, while production capacity of supporting components is gradually being commissioned. 

The company maintains that it has sufficient orders for ABC products without giving any specific numbers.  

Its operating profit for the period went up 117.9% to RMB 134.5 million, while net profit rose 119.6% to RMB 130.8 million.  

Aiko management said that it has further strengthened supply chain management following the price decline for raw materials, ensuring the continuity and stability of supply. The company stated that continuous optimization of product structure and capacity utilization improvements are also helping bring down production costs.
