  • SATBA in Iran has announced an international tender for 4 GW of solar PV capacity
  • Interested companies, both domestic and global, can compete with a minimum project capacity of 10 MW
  • SATBA has explained the broad scope of work for winning companies, right from financing, commissioning, operating and maintaining the system

Iran’s Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (SATBA) has officially launched a tender for solar PV projects with a cumulative capacity of 4 GW, inviting both domestic and international companies to participate.

Selected bidders will be expected to finance, design, construct, install, commission, operate and maintain the projects under broad scope of work specified. Minimum project capacity to be considered by SATBA in response to the tender is 10 MW.

Details of the tender, in Persian language, can be accessed on SATBA’s website.

Back in January 2022, SATBA along with the country’s Energy Ministry had signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the development of 10 GW of renewable energy capacity with private sector companies. This was the tendered capacity to which it received 90 GW in response which shows the immense interest renewables have for investors in the country (see MoU For 10 GW Renewable Energy In Iran).
