State owned power generator Hrvatska elektroprivreda (HEP) Group of Croatia has announced the commissioning of the country’s largest solar PV project having 8.7 MW DC/7.35 MW AC capacity with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković officially inaugurating it.

As part of its commitment to commission 7 solar power plants between 2019 and 2023, HEP has switched on the 3.5 MW Vis Solar Power Plant (in the picture) on the island of Vism, which is Croatia's largest PV system so far.

As it strives to build 350 MW of solar power capacity by 2030, Croatia’s HEP has now submitted a proposal with the country’s Ministry of Environmental Protection and Energy for 95 MW solar power capacity to be developed in the form of 2 projects, according to a media report.
