Following a hiatus in the first week of May, the TaiyangNews PV Price Index continued its declining trend in Calendar Week 19. The declines were more pronounced upstream and less so downstream.
All 4 Chinese polysilicon types listed saw WoW declines in CW19. Reusable Chinese polysilicon registered the highest decline at -18.8% WoW.
All wafer prices declined in the range of -0.9% to -7.2%, with p-type 182 mm falling the most.
The prices for PERC cell types held steady WoW, while the TOPCon cell variant was down -5.1%.
While module prices have lost the least value relative to others, they saw WoW declines in the range of -1.1% to -2.1%.
Solar glass prices were stable WoW after the 3.2 mm (thicker) variant saw a 2.0% increase in CW15.
Even as global polysilicon maintains its price levels, all other products listed in the TaiyangNews PV Price Index have seen price declines this year. The magnitude of declines is higher upstream—all polysilicon prices have crossed the –34.4% mark YtD, with wafers following close on their heels. While cell prices have fallen in a range of -5.6% to -21.9% YtD, modules have been relatively stable registering only single-digit declines so far this year.
The data refers to average product prices in China. The data was collected by Chinese market research firm Gessey PV Consulting.
