The TaiyangNews PV Price Index returned to its declining trend again in Calendar Week 17. The declines were more pronounced upstream and less so downstream.
All 4 Chinese polysilicon types listed saw double-digit WoW declines in CW17, with n-type silicon prices falling the most at -15.8%.
The 182 mm variants of both n-type and p-type wafers were down low-single-digits WoW. The declines were higher among the 210 mm products, with p-type down -8.5% and n-type down -11.5%.
The TOPCon cell variant saw the highest decline of -6.0% WoW, with PERC 182 mm and 210 mm declining -2.9% and -2.8% respectively.
Module prices were no exception to the declining trend this week, with prices for all listed types falling in the range of -1.1% to -2.2%.
Solar glass prices were stable WoW after the 3.2 mm (thicker) variant saw a 2.0% increase in CW15.
All products listed in the TaiyangNews PV Price Index have seen price declines this year, barring Global Polysilicon. The magnitude of declines is higher upstream—all polysilicon prices have crossed the -20% mark YtD, with wafers following close on their heels. While cell prices have fallen in a range of -5.6% to 17.7% YtD, modules have been relatively stable with single-digit declines so far this year.
The data refers to average product prices in China. The data was collected by Chinese market research firm Gessey PV Consulting.
