Alta Energy, a US company that provides comprehensive analytics, strategic advice and procurement services for businesses adopting renewable energy, announced the appointment of three solar veterans to its leadership team. Paul Detering will join as Alta Energy’s chief operating officer and board member; Chris Tilley will serve as chief strategy officer and executive vice president; and Marc Roper will serve as chief commercial officer and executive vice president.

“We are taking the next step to strengthen the leadership in our company, position ourselves for growth, and expand the palette of innovative and sustainable energy services that we provide to our clients,” said Alta Energy CEO Sam Lee.

Detering brings over 25 years of experience leading early and growth stage companies in the clean technology, telecom and software industries. He founded and led Tioga Energy, served as the CEO and CFO at REC Solar and led CODA Energy as its first CEO. He will oversee and lead the company’s business operations in renewable energy.

“Alta Energy is empowering enterprises to adopt renewable energy solutions through partnerships that take an integrated approach,” said Detering. “I’m thrilled to be a part of guiding the company’s comprehensive business model as we expand our customer base.”

Tilley brings over 20 years of experience in renewable energy and technology to Alta Energy. He formerly served as CEO of SunLink Corporation, founder and CEO of Porvenir Inc., and president and chief financial officer of Prevalent Power. Tilley will lead strategic planning and new product/service research and development, along with business development and partnership activities.

“Alta provides its clients with long-term, strategic support in their efforts to become more sustainable with respect to energy,” said Mr. Tilley. “As new innovative clean energy technologies and solutions emerge in a rapidly evolving market, Alta will be the expert that enables its clients to make sense of these options and use them appropriately as part of a holistic, comprehensive sustainable energy strategy.”

Roper has over two decades of experience in the solar and distributed energy industry. Prior to Alta, he served as CEO of solar developer Sovereign Modular, chief commercial officer at energy storage provider CODA Energy, and EVP at solar power purchase agreement (PPA) provider Tioga Energy. He joined Alta as VP or Marketing in late 2016 with Alta’s acquisition of Sovereign Modular, and will now lead sales and marketing in his new expanded role.

San Mateo, California based Alta Energy provides comprehensive analytics, strategic advice and procurement services for companies looking to become more sustainable and profitable through the use of renewable energy. Alta Energy partners with its customers to deliver holistic solutions that are both technology and service neutral, representing their customers’ best interests and enabling them to achieve the environmental and economic benefits of renewable energy.
