  • NTPC REL is soliciting bids for BOS package for 1.2 GW solar power capacity in Gujarat
  • Services will need to be provided as 4×300 MW at Khavda RE Power Park in the Rann of Kutch
  • APDCL is seeking consultants to prepare DPR for 1 GW solar power capacity in Assam with ADB funding

The wholly owned subsidiary of state-owned Indian utility NTPC, NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) wants to award balance of system (BOS) package for 1.2 GW solar power capacity in Gujarat, and the Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) is looking for consultants for 1 GW grid connected solar PV project in Assam.

NTPC REL’s 1.2 GW tender seeks BOS services for 4×300 MW solar power projects at Khavda RE Power Park in Gujarat’s Rann of Kutch. The company will provide solar PV modules for this capacity as a ‘free issue item’.

Barring solar module supply, the broad scope of services includes design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, packing and forwarding, transportation, unloading, storage, installation, testing and commissioning the facility. Winner will also be required to offer comprehensive operation and maintenance of the project for 3 years from the date of commissioning.

The tender was launched on November 24, 2022 and will be open for bid submission till January 9, 2023. Tender details with invitation for bids (IFB) no. NRE-CS-5779-004(BOS-2)-9 is available on NTPC’s e-tender website.

In June 2022, NTPC REL had launched a drive to look for BOS suppliers for 1.25 GW PV capacity for Khavda Renewable Energy Power Park (see NTPC Launches Solar EPC & BOS Tenders In India).

On the other hand, APDCL wants to engage the services of a consultant to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for 1 GW grid connected solar PV power project in the state of Assam under Mukhya Mantri Sauro Shakti Prokolpo scheme. It is funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The said project is proposed to be sited in Karbi Anglong district of the state. Under the state budget for 2022-23, the state government has earmarked INR 40 billion for this scheme to increase generation of clean energy capacity in Assam by installing solar power generation plants with an aggregate 1 GW capacity.

Bid document have been available from November 23, 2022, and needs to be submitted by November 30, 2022, as per the announcement.

In October 2022, Indian government’s hydropower utility SJVN Limited said it will develop 1 GW floating solar power capacity in Assam under a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with APDCL (see India PV News Snippets).
