  • RUMSL has launched the RFP round for 300 MW floating solar PV capacity at Omkareshwar reservoir in Madhya Pradesh
  • It needs to be installed in the form of 3 projects of 100 MW each, with minimum quantity to be bid for, for a single unit being 90 MW
  • RUMSL will provide power evacuation infrastructure while MPPMCL will procure power to be generated

Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL), a joint venture (JV) between Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (MPUVNL) and the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), has launched a tender for the development of 300 MW floating solar capacity at Omkareshwar Reservoir in Madhya Pradesh.

The request for proposals (RFP) specifies that this capacity needs to be installed in the form of 3 projects of 100 MW each on location, defined as units A, B and C. Minimum quality a bidder can bid for under this tender is 90 MW for a single unit.

RUMSL, on its part, will provide power evacuation infrastructure for interconnection of the unit.

Power generated by the project will be supplied to the Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company (MPPMCL) under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA).

Issued on July 23, 2022, the last date to submit bids in response to this RFP is September 26, 2022.

Tender documents are available on https://www.bharat-electronictender.com under tender search code RUMSL-2022-TN000002. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for August 22, 2022.

It forms phase II of the 600 MW Omkareshwar Floating Solar Park that’s aimed to be developed as 6×100 MW. In May 2022, Mercom India Research said phase I of the floating solar park was auctioned to Amp Energy, NHDC and SJVN, each winning 100 MW capacity (see India PV News Snippets).
